After a fulfilling first-career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, I’ve spent the past decade supporting families in some of their most tender, joyful, and vulnerable moments through the blur of sleepless nights, first feedings, milestone moments, and long-distance flights with little ones in tow.

But this work is more than a profession—it’s who I am...

I bring a calm, confident presence into homes and hotel rooms alike, providing full-time, attentive care for babies and steady, reassuring support for the parents who love them..

I have had the privilege of supporting families:

  • In penthouses and summer rentals

  • On cross-country road trips and red-eye flights

  • During the early days following C-sections, NICU stays, and challenging births

  • Through seasons of joy, grief, exhaustion, and everything in between

What I offer is consistency, expert care, safety, and heartfelt attention.

Whether we’re waking up in Brooklyn or Barcelona, you can trust your baby is held with skill, attention, and a whole lot of heart.

Driven by Family, Guided by Experience

Water Lily Newborn Care is named in memory of my grandson, Gerel Isaac Monroe Jr., aka Izzy.

His name is never far from my lips, and his presence is always with me.

He died unexpectedly from SUID — a loss that changed the course of my life, and clarified my purpose. In the grief that followed, I found a new calling. His birth flower is the water lily. His birthstone is amethyst. You’ll find him in every detail of this work.

My guiding philosophy as a Newborn Care Specialist rests on three pillars:

  1. Family‑Centered Partnership

  2. Evidence‑Based, Holistic Care

  3. Gentle, Developmentally Appropriate Routines

Who I support

I proudly serve all families, including:

  • LGBTQIA+ families

  • Medically fragile/NICU babies

  • Solo parents

  • Families formed through surrogacy, adoption, or chosen kin

If you’re welcoming a baby into your life, I will meet you with warmth, wisdom, and without judgment.

“On the way home from the hospital, my husband and I joked that no one gave us a ‘Baby Manual.’ Turns out, Erica is a walking, talking baby manual who calmed our nerves and gave us comfort so we could enjoy all the beautiful moments with our newborn.”
